McDonalds offers a range of food choices, their variety ranges from beef burgers to carrot sticks, sausage McMuffins to McFlurries. The public become aware of these original names for their products by advertisement through the media and word of mouth advertisement. Their website allows the general public to see what goes into their products, what they have to offer, what they sponser and different store locations amongst other bits of information.
Here on the McDonalds website you can see that by clicking on 'Restaurants' you have the choice of finding a specific location, finding them by Sat Nav, how to find it on your mobile phone, how to book birthday parties and what else is on at McDonalds.
McDonald's allows the public to go online and find out the various nutrition values in all of the foods and drinks available at every McDonalds store. They give you the option to compare these to both an adults daily in take and a childs daily in take. This means that as a customer you can plan your diet and McDonalds aren't pushing unhealthy food upon people, they promote healthy living. Evidence of them promoting healthy living includes them supporting the UKs grassroots football programme to get people involved in sport and physical activity, specifically in football.
Subway have a website which allows the public to view the menu available in all of the Subway stores. The website furthers itself by acknowledging that they offer subway cards so you can save money eventually when you spend enough over time. They also give the public awareness that they are on Twitter and Facebook so the public can get involved and support them that way. This is a good way of getting people interested in a product as they like to know what they are eating and being a part of.
This is the part of the website where we found out exactly what food and drinks Subway has to offer. Here you can also find out how to order your food and what the nutrition values are. In a sense, this website is similar to McDonalds are they allow the public to see what is in their food. It is important that they offer this as they make the public aware that they are able to eat this type of takeaway without ruining their diet.

For example, you can look at the main menu, the 'happy Hour' menu, the childrens menu and the lunch time menu. This means that when you are deciding what to order, you can choose from home rather than going in, this aids with the idea of ordering online or by phone.
The above image shows you what happens when you go to order online. Firstly you have to type in your post code so they can find which store is closest to you and you can select which one you want to order from and what time you want it delivered or picked up. Then you get to choose either a deal type or a pizza type, it then tells you how much it costs. During the selection of your pizza you can choose a base, a crust, a vegetarian and extra toppings.
